Welsh Region

We now have a single Welsh region which will make consultation across, and representation of Wales easier.

Our Regional Director is Ian Hill (previous South & Mid Wales) and the Deputy (North) is Ian Saunders and Deputy (South) is Rhys Jones.

Formation of our Branch

The Ceredigion branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) was formed in July 2007. Prior to this, CAMRA members in Ceredigion had met collectively over the years as an informal branch supported by CAMRA stalwart and area organizer Rhys Jones.

Geography

Although known as Ceredigion CAMRA, the branch only covers the mid and north of the county as those members in and close to the Teifi valley in Ceredigion are affiliated to Carmarthen CAMRA. The following community council areas are excluded from the branch geography: Ferwig, Cardigan, Llangoedmor, Beulah, Llandyfriog. Llandysul, Llanwenog, Llanwnnen, Lampeter, Llanfair Clydogau, as shown in the map below. Or see the larger version of the map.

Activities

Among its activities, Ceredigion CAMRA selects the pubs in the branch area that are to be included in CAMRA's flagship, annual publication, the Good Beer Guide, and also decides which pub and landlord will receive the Ceredigion CAMRA "Pub of the Year" award.
